RUSA



		Senior Citizen Home (Integrated Programme for Senior Citizens) came into existence in the year 1993 under the aegis of Rural Service Agency (RUSA) with financial assistance from Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India. The Senior Citizens Home is based in Laiching near Nongpok Kakching supporting elderly people for nearly 3 decades. It started with an objective to serve elder needs and continues to make a difference in their lives. It aims to support the elder who are destitute, sick and abandoned by family. At present, the home is occupied with 25 (Twenty Five) elderly person under the supervision of home Superintendent. Understanding the needs of Senior citizens the home is providing their lodging & foods along with exceptional focus on their Health and Meditation. Under the instruction of Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, the Senior CItizens Home is providing the following facilities at present:
	1. Shelter & Accommodation 2. Nutritious Food and Routine Diets 3. Regular Exercise, Meditation & Yoga 4. Tea & Snacks for both morning and evening 5. Gardening 6. Television, Radio & Newspaper 7. Books 8. Travel and Religious visits 9. Funeral Expenses The home has been running smoothly with the support of many stakeholders, for instances; Local communities, Security personnel of Assam Rifles & BSF and other Government and Non-government organizations. Products Products of jute yarn, bags, file cover, telephone mat, door mat, shoes, products of pineapple yarn and clothes etc. Geographical area covered by organization The whole of the Manipur State.
